Walking on eggshells

March 2020 // performance // 118 eggs, milk, cotton

For this piece, I emptied the contents of 120 eggs and lined up the hollow shells in a path from one end of a ramp to the other. I carried a bowl of milk from the bottom walking on the eggshells with my bare feet, without spilling a single drop. I had a shawl wrapped around me that dragged through the crushed eggs shells I left behind me. When I reached the top of the ramp, I washed my hands in the milk. Two eggs were broken before they reached the path.
